Lofoten Island – Nothernlights miracle

Not the easiest place to visit for sure. I fly to Oslo than to Harstad/Narvic and then I took 2 hours drive to Svolver. I had one goal going to Lofoten Island.. to see Northern Lights. I travelled in January, which to my surprise wasn’t as cold as I expected taking into account it is an Arctic Circle.

The top thing to do is to drive from Svolver to Å. The landscape will blow your mind . Even it is sometimes scary to drive as roads are narrow and very slippery in winter, you will not regret it.

Another atrraction is to wonder around the biggest town of Svolver. The place where they dry the fish on triangular wooden racks, even though they really stink you should not miss it.

now the most important thing.. Northern Lights. I was lucky enough during 1 week in Lofoten to witness this nature miracle and it’s undescribable. I used My Aurora Forecast app to see the possibility of seeing Northern Lights. Take into account as well the sky has to be clear. if you will be lucky enough to see it trust me , you will never forget this experience.

If I have to describe Lofotens in few words I would say wild fjords, serpentine roads and pretty little houses. I hope I convince you to Visit this Norwegian pearl.
