May.. you would think is spring time… Think twice when you plan to come to Norway. Firstly I learned the hard way there is no bus going to the direction to Trolltunga, because it only run in summer season. Then it turn out the whole place is filled with snow so you cannot see signs and you need to hire a guide so you don’t get lost and lastly I had 2 choices .. snow rockets or ski touring…
To be honest without the guide I wouldn’t know where to go so plan your visit in summer season. The first kilometres is hard as you walk all the way up. Poor knees… Then is about 3 hours walking to the Trolltunga. On the way we passed one sign that was actually not under the snow, which help you to know you are still on track. Definitely advantage of coming in May was that there was nobody there, which I can imagine is not possible in summer season. In wintery condition the whole trip with stops for snack and pictures took us 7 hours.
